How to get to Goanna Manor - Happy Valley on K'gari (Fraser Island)
Obviously you will need a 4WD. You will also need barge transfers and a vehicle permit.
If coming from Rainbow the permit can be obtained from the first servo on left on way into town.
If coming from Hervey Bay you will need to book in advance.
Permits can be booked online
Be aware of tide times when planning your travel.
Getting Here:
From Eastern Beach, drive up the track and turn left at the shop.
From inland, turn right at the shop.
Address: 302 Postan Street, Happy Valley, Fraser Island. 4655.
Arrival & Parking:
Please disengage 4WD before turning in the gate.
Park parallel beside the house – strictly no turning or driving on the grass or in the backyard.
Key & Water Supply:
Keys will be found in a locked box on the wall beside the back door.
Use the key to both lock and unlock the back door and also to enable the water supply.
- Inside the back door, above the laundry tub, insert the key into the switch.
- Turn fully to the right until the green light turns on.
- Leave the key in place while inside – it keeps water flowing.
We suggest the driver grab a drink and relax on the veranda while delegating the gear-carrying – it’s been a long drive!
